Not only is it how you can give your home, property and possibly yourself, the best opportunity to survive wildfire....IT'S THE LAW!
By removing and or reducing flammable vegetation within the 100 area immediately surrounding your home, you reduce the threat impact due to wildfire. In January 2005 a new state law became effective that extended the defensible space clearance around homes and structures from 30 feet to 100 feet. Proper clearance to 100 feet dramatically increases the chance of your house surviving a wildfire. This defensible space also provides for firefighter safety when protecting homes during a wildland fire.

What is Mechanical Clearing?

Custom designed equipment for the job

FNC's skid steers have light footprints and create less ground disturbance than heavier forestry equipment. In fact, newer models are built specifically to operate in sensitive areas because they exert low ground pressure. Compact design and rubber tracks make our equipment nimble yet highly effective, all while being environmentally conscious.

Our equipment can reduce standing material up to 8" in diameter to shreds or chips in seconds.

No burning necessary

No need for burn permits anymore. Woody material is reduced to ground level. If desired material can be mulched into the soil.

Environmentally benefical

Woody material and chips natural decompose into the soil. During the decomposition process the material reduces a high percentage of regrowth of undesired brush.
